The second mission of the campaign, Song of Stoutheart, is the game’s introduction mission to building and managing bases. Base building is a crucial aspect of the game because they allow the players to replenish their troops and purchase research upgrades. But with so many things to do, we understand how it can still be confusing to some. Thus, we came up with this solid strategy to complete the mission of Stourheart campaign, the responsibility of a rule, easily!
Mission 2 Full Walkthrough – Songs Of Conquest
The first thing that the player will encounter in this mission is a large settlement with two vacated build sites.
Their first priority is to build a barracks on the medium build site next to the settlement, but because they lack the stone resources, they have to explore the accessible parts of the map to get them first. For now, they must build a lumber mill on the smaller one because it’s a requisite to upgrade barracks to tier 3 for later.
With the building now set, they can start exploring a bit on the left towards the stone quarry guarded by a Fae. The player should subjugate the Fae immediately to secure the stone resources they need to build barracks.
The stone deposit and the stone resource loot beside it should provide enough stone to build barracks. Hover back to the medium build site next to the settlement and select Barracks.
After building it, select the barracks and choose the ‘Call on the Rangers’ to unlock Ranger units.
Because barracks can only get 2 rangers and footmen added to its soldier pool per round. The player should clear the eastern map of Fae enemies for now. However, they should avoid engaging the horned ones guarding the Celestial Ore Mine at the top for now.
Avoid this guy right here.
For any level-up encountered on the way, the player should pickcommand skillfirst to increase the maximum number of their troops to five. After that, they should revert to choosing additional offense or resistance at their discretion.
After clearing the east, the player should head back to the barracks to replenish their troops. In the meantime, they should also upgrade the tier of their large settlement and build a marketplace in the additional building site provided to buy resources later.
Now back to the barracks, and it should have gathered enough soldier pools to recruit 5 max troops. Because we went for ranged offensive skills for this session, we chose to go with 3 rangers and 2 footmen.
After getting their additional troops, the players can now take the celestial ore mine from the horned ones guarding it.
With the mine secured, they can now clear the southern part of the map of enemies to get more resources. With five max troops recruited, the player should encounter no problems even if they quick battle everything.
In the meantime, with more celestial ores gained, the player should now hover back to the barracks and upgrade its tier, as well as build a Grand Armory at the large building site above it to purchase research upgrades later.
While clearing the enemies southwards, the player should be able to reach level 8 and obtain their first power skill. As mentioned above, because we have chosen to go for ranged attack this session, we chose the additional range power skill over the additional hp.
After the Grand Armory is built, the player can now purchase upgrades. For this game, they can focus on maxing the upgrades of the two main troops that they will use—In this case, the footmen and the ranger—then the general unit stat upgrades on the left to save celestial stones.
To make up for the lack of Celestial Ores, they can purchase them in the marketplace with gold. For the lack of the latter, the player can skip turns in this mission until he gains enough gold.
After clearing out the enemies on the south and having maxed your research upgrades, the player can now go further southward and travel Ashbourne’s way. The border guards, shouldn’t be an issue to their, now upgraded troops.
With some losses incurred, they can return to the barracks and simply replenish their numbers, as well as upgrade their surviving troops to tier 2.
With troops replenished, the player can now go straight further downwards, where they will encounter the enemy wielder, Captain Xavier Silkspool. Their tier 2 troops with max research upgrades should be able to handle him easily even with quick battling.
After defeating Silkspool and securing Ashbourne, they can simply go straight into Tenderwyld’s way where they will encounter the Frogman wielder, Cheekham Stormcaller. But even with losses from the battle with Silkspool, they should still be able to make quick work out of him too.
After defeating him, the player can now go straight eastward to achieve mission complete!
Hopefully, this walkthrough was able to help you with those 2nd mission troubles. Now onwards to the 3rd mission, and show them that Stoutheart will stand!
